At Lion Opus, we do not simply craft objects. We create living artworks that embody centuries of Chinese heritage. Every lion head, dragon costume, or ceremonial lantern is entirely handcrafted in Europe, following the lineage of master artisans whose techniques remain unchanged through
time.
Our pieces are not mass-produced commodities. They are singular creations, rare, vibrant, and imbued with the soul of tradition.
To hold a Lion Opus creation is to embrace a cultural treasure,
designed for those who demand both authenticity and excellence.
Lion Dance has been at the heart of my journey for over 25 years. What began as a passion for performance led me to explore its deeper cultural roots, taking me across Asia for more than 15 years. In China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Taiwan, I studied not only the dance itself, but also the traditional craft of building lion and dragon heads.
I learned how to bend bamboo or rattan by hand, how to shape and layer paper, and how to give life through paint and detail. These traditional methods, passed down for generations, form the foundation of my work today.
My vision was clear: to preserve this heritage and share it through authentic, handmade creations. Each lion and dragon head is crafted from start to finish using bamboo or rattan and paper — never mass-produced, never compromising on tradition.
I specialize in bespoke creations, designed to match the needs of each troupe, school, or collector. From the balance of the frame to the expression in the painted face, each detail is carefully tuned so that the final work carries spirit, strength, and individuality.
These are not simply props; they are living symbols of culture. To perform with or display one of my creations is to connect with centuries of tradition, brought to life with the same dedication and artistry that has always defined the Lion Dance.
We work closely with artists, guiding them through the selection and promotion process.
Also strategize, organize exhibitions and sales, and plan for the future. Our publishing house creates supplementary materials to amplify the societal importance of our artists’ work. Represent artists who have made significant contributions to culture and strive to showcase their art in esteemed institutions.
